Founder & CEO

Andre Zeitoun is the Founder and CEO of Ionic Mineral Technologies, a U.S.-based innovation leader in advanced, next generation battery materials. Andre is highly regarded for his leadership in the commercialization of halloysite clay nanotubes. Andre has dedicated over a decade of his career to this unique mineral and established himself as a pioneer in the commercialization of Halloysite for specialty applications. A seasoned leader formerly working on Wall St. and as an executive of a public company, Andre is well positioned to grow his company and accelerate the path to an electrified future.

Chief Operating Officer

Dr. Shane Porzio is Chief Operating Officer of Ionic Mineral Technologies, leveraging 30+ years of leadership in operations, R&D, commercial strategy and execution, and executive management. He previously served as CEO of Profile Products LLC, Global SVP at Vantage Specialty Chemicals, and spent over two decades at BASF in senior executive roles, including leading the global Kaolin Minerals business. Shane is an authentic, inspirational and seasoned leader, tenacious in the face of adversity, but adaptive, bold and entrepreneurial.

He holds a Ph.D. in Polymer Science (University of Akron), an MBA (Wake Forest University), and a B.A. in Chemistry and Anthropology (Beloit College). He is fluent in five languages and brings a deep commitment to innovation, customer and operational excellence, and the triple bottom line.

Chief Marketing Officer

Betty Lankry brings extensive international experience in events, marketing, media, and business development to Ionic Mineral Technologies. For decades, Betty has led events and supported media productions across Europe, North America (primarily NYC, Miami and LA), as well as South America. Betty co-founded Prisma Artists, a global booking agency, and has worked for brands including MTV, Royal Elastics, Prospect Park production company. Betty studied the Business of Entertainment at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA).

 

Rajan Patel, Ph.D.

Rajan Patel, Ph.D.

Head of Engineering

Rajan Patel serves as Head of Engineering, leading process and product development at Ionic MT, directing the scale-up of the company’s vertically integrated critical minerals platform. He oversees the commercialization of rare earth extraction, high-purity alumina, nano-silicon, and advanced battery materials. Previously, as a core member of Group14 Technologies and a researcher for Fortune 500 partners at PNNL, Patel scaled silicon-carbon manufacturing from gram-scale R&D to commercial production. He led the development of multiple product variations and established robust manufacturing blueprints. A Ph.D. chemical engineer with technology acquired by Forge Nano, 25+ peer-reviewed articles and over 19 patents, he is currently operationalizing the nation's unique fully domestic, mine-to-market supply chain.

Head of Operations

Ryan Wilde is a Senior Leader and Chemical Engineer with over 20 years of experience driving operational excellence in the mining industry. He has led process engineering initiatives across pyrometallurgy, hydrometallurgy, flash smelting, sulfuric acid plant operations, and water processing/recycling, delivering measurable improvements in performance, safety, and sustainability. Beginning his career at US Magnesium and later spending 19 years with Rio Tinto Kennecott, Ryan advanced into a leadership role as the lead technical expert for capital projects, overseeing high-risk, capital-intensive operations. A Lean Six Sigma Black Belt with expertise in constraint utilization, project management, and technical governance, he is recognized for aligning cross-functional teams, implementing innovative solutions, and ensuring long-term operational and environmental stewardship.

Troy Colwill

Troy Colwill

Head of Hydrometallurgy

Troy Colwill is the Head of Hydrometallurgy at Ionic Mineral Technologies, where he leads the development of innovative processes to recover critical minerals essential to the energy transition. With a degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada, Troy brings over 18 years of experience in the mining and metals industry.
 
His career includes four years with the Iron Ore Company of Canada and 14 years at Kennecott Utah Copper, where he honed his expertise in hydrometallurgical processes. Troy is passionate about driving continuous improvement—whether on the production floor or through advanced data analytics.
 
He specializes in chemical reactions such as precipitation, acid-base reactions, ion exchange, and solvent extraction, and is committed to scaling sustainable technologies from lab scale to pilot plant to full production.

Hydrometallurgy Engineer

Mason Brevig supports Ionic Mineral Technologies’ mission as a Hydrometallurgy Engineer, focusing on the development and optimization of advanced processes to extract & recover critical minerals.
 
A dedicated metallurgical engineer, Mason earned his M.S. and B.S. from the prestigious Colorado School of Mines, where he conducted graduate research with the Kroll Institute for Extractive Metallurgy. Prior to joining IonicMT, he managed critical minerals recovery programs at Arcadis, gaining direct experience in rare earth leaching, scandium recovery via ion exchange, and techno-economic analysis. His hands-on work included bench-scale testing, flowsheet construction, and collaborating with major producers to define concentrate standards.
 
Mason specializes in the chemical processing of materials and is driven by the technical challenge of creating efficient, scalable solutions to strengthen America’s critical minerals supply chain.

Senior Process Engineer

Maxwell Drexler is an experienced metallurgist and mining industry professional with a strong background in extractive metallurgy, mineral processing, and geology. He has worked across multiple commodities—including copper, uranium, vanadium, gold, and construction aggregates—and most recently served as a Shift Metallurgist at Rio Tinto Kennecott, where he focused on smelter operations, process modeling, and plant optimization. Max holds a B.S. in Geology from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and an M.S. in Extractive Metallurgy from the University of Arizona. As Ionic MT’s new Senior Process Engineer, he will lead front-of-plant process development and optimization to support the safe, scalable, and high-quality production of advanced materials.

Preston Colledge

Director of Mining Operations

Preston Colledge is the Director of Mining Operations at Ionic Mineral Technologies. Preston holds an extensive background in excavation, geology, and scaling-up mining operations. Previously, Preston was a Researcher at Utah Valley State University where he developed various research proposals including one for using magnetic anomalies in Earth’s total magnetic field to locate placer gold deposits. Preston received his Bachelor of Science degree in Geology and Earth Science from Utah Valley University.

 

Tyler Gerratt

Geology Lab Supervisor

Tyler Gerratt is a Mineralogist with a strong background in mineral characterization, geochemistry, and laboratory analysis. He earned his B.S. in Geology from Brigham Young University and is currently completing his M.S. in Geology at BYU, where his graduate research is being conducted in partnership with Ionic Mineral Technologies. His work focuses on XRD and XRF analysis, including data acquisition, interpretation, and the development of models for elemental and mineralogical distribution. Tyler has hands-on experience with XRF and XRD instrumentation, sample preparation, and laboratory workflows, and he brings a detail-oriented, data-driven approach to mineral analysis. As he joins Ionic MT, Tyler will support ongoing materials characterization and contribute to advancing the company’s understanding of feedstock mineralogy.

Luka is a Business Operations Associate at Ionic Mineral Technologies, bringing a strategic mindset and a passion for innovation to our team. He holds an MBA from Bethel University and a Bachelor’s in Marketing from Coppin State University, where he balanced academics with being a Division 1, all American tennis player —developing strong discipline, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
 
At IonicMT, Luka is already making an impact by leveraging AI-driven solutions to enhance operational efficiency, creating greater bandwidth for R&D and accelerating product development. His background in employee recruitment, global business ethics, and corporate law provides him with a strong foundation for optimizing workflows and driving organizational growth and efficiency.

Luis Aguilar is a Chemical Engineer and Analytical Scientist with over a decade of experience in advanced laboratory operations. He specializes in trace metals analysis, chromatography, and method development under GLP/GMP standards. At Ionic Mineral Technologies, Luis oversees the setup, validation, and operation of critical analytical instruments including ICP-MS, XRD, XRF, and TGA, ensuring compliance, data integrity, and scalable systems to support next-generation battery materials.
 
Luis earned his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the National Polytechnic Institute in Mexico City. He is committed to building robust laboratory systems that advance Ionic MT’s mission to accelerate electrification and deliver innovative battery materials.

Cell Engineer

Meet Vora is an experienced Battery Engineer with a strong background in material characterization, process development, rheology, electrode formulation and cell testing. Meet Vora supports Ionic Mineral Technologies’ mission as a Cell Engineer, focusing on the development of electrode formulations, optimization of electrode manufacturing processes and managing cell testing capabilities. Meet earned his MS in Material Science and Engineering from Northwestern University with his research focus being novel cathode active materials. Prior to joining Ionic Mineral technologies, Meet worked as a Battery Engineer at Natron Energy where he worked on electrode formulation development and electrode manufacturing scale-up.

Vai brings 13 + years of hands-on experience in high-precision production and manufacturing settings, including roles at L3Harris Technologies and Mity Inc.  Skilled in robotics, automated systems, electronic testing, PLC programming, and equipment maintenance, he focuses on optimizing processes and boosting production efficiency.  Known for solving complex technical issues, enhancing workflows, and implementing solutions that improve quality while reducing downtime.  Committed to maintaining reliable, high-performance operations and continuously improving manufacturing performance through practical, results-driven engineering practices.

Process Operator

Chris is a Process Operator at Ionic Mineral Technologies, supporting safe and efficient production within the company’s advanced materials operations. He brings experience in renewable energy, industrial instrumentation, mechanical systems, and offshore data acquisition.
 
Before joining IonicMT, Chris worked across the energy sector in roles involving remote operations, control room monitoring, systems commissioning, and field diagnostics. His background includes troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems, preventive maintenance, systems fabrication, and offshore oceanographic instrumentation deployments. Chris also served in the U.S. Army’s 75th Ranger Regiment, where he supported high-tempo Special Operations missions through technical sustainment, logistics coordination, and team leadership under demanding conditions. He holds an A.S. in IT & Networking with a focus in Automation and Electronics.
