Process Operator
We’re looking for a Process Operator to join our team at our pilot processing plant of Ionic Mineral Technologies in Provo, UT. focused on the manufacturing of clay minerals. In this role, you’ll be instrumental in the operation and maintenance of specialized equipment, ensuring the efficient and safe production of our innovative clay mineral products.
Responsibilities:
As a Process Operator, you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day operation of various equipment within our clay minerals pilot plant. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Operate and monitor a range of slurry processing equipment, including blenders, screens, dryers, and filtration units. You’ll also work with powder and slurry handling systems and dryers.
- Understand and control process parameters to ensure product quality and optimize efficiency. This includes adjusting flow rates, temperatures, and pressures as needed.
- Safely handle and transfer raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products. This may involve operating forklifts and other material handling equipment to move pallets, bags, and supplies, as well as loading and unloading trucks.
- Perform in-process quality checks and ensure bag weights and other specifications are met according to customer requirements.
- Conduct routine preventative maintenance on equipment, identify and troubleshoot operational issues, and assist with minor repairs to minimize downtime.
- Maintain accurate production logs, complete necessary data entry, and meticulously record process parameters and material movements.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and procedures, including completing risk assessments before tasks and reviewing safety analyses. Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Work closely with engineers and other team members to optimize processes, improve product quality, and contribute to the overall success of the pilot plant.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience operating machinery in a manufacturing or industrial environment, preferably within a process-oriented industry.
- Familiarity with slurry processing, drying, filtration, and powder handling equipment is a significant advantage.
- Ability to read and understand work instructions, blueprints, and process flow diagrams.
- Basic data entry skills and comfort with computer systems.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to all safety regulations.
- Ability to lift 50lbs regularly and perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, stacking, and standing extended periods.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality products.
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain one.
- Willing to relocate to Utah
